Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E):
Tocopheryl acetate is slowly hydrolyzed once it is absorbed into the skin, regenerating tocopherol and it is believed to provide some protection against the sun's ultraviolet rays. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that protects cell membranes and other fat-soluble parts of the body. Antioxidants work in several ways: they may reduce the energy of the free radical, stop the free radical from forming in the first place, or interrupt an oxidizing chain reaction to minimize the damage caused by free radicals.
Free radicals are highly reactive compounds that are created in the body during normal metabolic functions or introduced from the environment. Free radicals are inherently unstable, since they contain "extra" energy. To reduce their energy load, free radicals react with certain chemicals in the body, and in the process, interfere with the cells' ability to function normally. In fact, free radicals are believed to play a role in more than sixty different health conditions, including the aging process.
Soybean Oil:
According to the ancient Chinese, in 2853 BC the legendary Emperor Shennong of China named five sacred plants – soybeans, rice, wheat, barley, and millet. Soybeans produce a moisturizing oil that smoothes on easily without leaving skin greasy.

Because we use an extract, there is no risk of botulinum toxin and it is safe for topical use on babies.
Blueberry Oil:
Blueberries are powerful anti-oxidants to protect skin from damage by free radicals. Our Great-grandmother, Bamasenokwe, ran the local store while raising 12 children. Her store and home sat next to a blueberry patch several acres large. She touted the health benefits of blueberry, canning and selling blueberry products to the community. She died at 92 with luminous nearly wrinkle free skin. See description of Vitamin E above for information on antioxidants and free radicals.

The properties of calendula make it an attractive herb for treating and soothing the scalp.
